No. Canadians do not have to take USMLE step 1 or 2, but they must have the Canadian equivalent (MCCQE). Canadians do not have to obtain an ECFMG certificate, however, they do need to go through the ECFMG for their visa and obtain an ECFMG ID#.

No. You need not have a California Medical license before applying. You must be eligible to obtain one. If you match with our program, you will be given ample time to fill out our appointment packets and apply for a medical license.  Your acceptance is contingent successful completion of appointment, credentialing, and licensing.

Yes, however it is recommended to apply/interview with the subspecialty that most interests you. If you do choose to apply to more than one subspecialty, you can fill out 1 application and list the subspecialty by 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice. Your application will be given first to your top choice for review, and then sent to the other sections on your list.

We usually select fellowship positions one year in advance in August, following SCARD embargo dates (with the exception of Neurointerventional that has a rolling application).  However, if you see an open position on our website, you are more than welcome to apply.

Technically yes. You can apply, submit a completed application packet, and interview with us, however, we will not be able to rank you unless you provide us with an AAMC ID#. If you are interested in our match programs and do not register, you will risk having to wait for unmatched positions that may or may not become available after the match day. We highly recommend registering in the Match.

Applicants must have completed a four-year diagnostic radiology residency from an accredited program.
