Cheng Hong, MD
Biography
Cheng William Hong, MD MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Hong received an MD with special qualification in Biomedical Research from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine along with an MS in Biomedical Investigation from Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Hong completed a diagnostic radiology residency in the T32 Clinician-Scientist Track at UCSD, where he received the RSNA Roentgen Resident Research Award and the UCSD Robert Mattrey, MD Research Award which recognizes outstanding research among graduating residents. Dr. Hong completed a Body MRI fellowship at Stanford and joined the UCSF faculty in 2022.
Dr. Hong has a special interest in liver imaging, and has been a part of the ACR LI-RADS Steering Committee since 2016. Dr. Hong’s research interests are noninvasive hepatic fat and iron quantification using MRI and ultrasound, and the clinical outcomes of LI-RADS.
