Biography

Mark Mamlouk, MD, is a volunteer associate clinical professor of radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his radiology residency at the University of California, Irvine, and achieved board certification in radiology in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he completed a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at UCSF, serving as chief fellow.

Dr. Mamlouk currently practices at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara while maintaining his volunteer role at UCSF, where he mentors trainees, conducts research, leads multi-disciplinary conferences, performs interventional spine procedures, and specializes in neuroradiology.

His primary professional research focus is spinal CSF leak management, where he has developed advanced techniques in myelography for improved detection of spinal leaks as well as optimized blood and fibrin glue patching for dural tears and CSF-venous fistulas. He is a recognized speaker nationally and internationally on this topic, a senior member of the International Society for Spinal CSF Leak (ISSCL), and serves as a medical advisor for the Spinal CSF Leak Foundation.

Additionally, pediatric neuroimaging is a major area of interest for Dr. Mamlouk, including research on cutaneous vascular anomalies and head and neck pathology. He is a member of the executive board of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR) and served as the program chair for the 2025 annual meeting.
