Biography

Irvane earned her Master’s in Computer and Information Technology from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing a PhD in the UCSF–UC Berkeley Joint Graduate Program in Bioengineering. Her research focuses on leveraging multi-parametric MRI and MR spectroscopic imaging to train machine learning models to distinguish treatment-related effects from true tumor recurrence in glioblastoma patients. She aims to characterize differences in tissue cellularity, water diffusion, and oxygenation levels between cancerous and healthy brain tissue. Outside of research, Irvane enjoys knitting, reading, writing, and playing chess. She travels back to Europe and Cameroon as often as possible to visit her family.
